Kathleen M. Vaeth received her Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Cornell University. Previously, she was a senior research scientist at the former Research Laboratories of the Eastman Kodak Company, and Vice President of Engineering at microGen Systems, Rochester, New York. At Eastman Kodak she distinguished herself for her work on organic light emitting diodes (OLED), MEMS, and microfluidics. At microGen Systems, her work was centered on the development of piezoelectric energy harvesters for wireless sensors. During her tenure at the Eastman Kodak Company she joined efforts with Frank Duarte to demonstrate spatial and spectral coherent emission from pulsed electrically-excited interferometric devices powered by coumarin laser dye-doped OLEDs.
